On Tuesday 5th Jan we had our first Meditation + Evolution evening of 2010 focusing entirely on the topic of Meditation. In fact the night had the title of ‘Enraptured by Nothing’! – and it really was a very enrapturing evening. First of all, it was excellent to see such a great turnout on a cold wintry night. Patrick Bryson led the evening with a mix of experiential meditation sessions interspersed with dialogue about our experience and understanding. As we did this together the shared quality of meditation deepened in a pronounced way. It became clear that we don’t talk enough about this subject and the more that we did, the more the deeper significant and experience of meditation emerged. Meditation helps us to know the deeper dimensions of the self – and this simultaneously sheds light on what is really important in life.
These weekly public events are part of the EnlightenNext Discovery Cycle, and each Tuesday we will be exploring both meditation and a particular aspect of culture in order to understand how to bring new enlightened values into the world. Some of the topics coming up in the near future are:
· Creativity and Spirituality
· Vertical and Horizontal Development
· Idealism for Grown Ups
· Releasing the Power and Glory of the Evolutionary Impulse
· Ego is a closed loop
I hope to see you at one in the near future! (Plus the food afterwards is the best in town!)

Although I wasn’t there this week, I have found the Tuesday Night Open Meditation Sessions at EnlightenNext in Islington to be an excellent, convenient and very powerful way to have a strong experience of meditation in the Context in which Andrew Cohen sets it.
I had a more profound experience in my first 45 minute drop-in there than I did in several 10 day Vipassana retreats! I always find that the experience flows over into dinner where lively and enlightening conversation is enjoyed by all who choose to stay on after the meditation sitting.
I’ll be seeing you all soon

Great! – Thanks Simon and hope to see you soon!
David,
Your events sounds authentic, enriching and inspiring. One of these days, if I ever can tear myself away from things, I’ll have to come and fulfill one of my life’s aspirations, to walk through the land where one’s mother tongue is actually spoken, something I’ve yet to do.
It’s important to come together in an environment which is conducive to learning and actually having it take place with the coming together of people who are passionate and without any particular agenda. It sounds like a very life-enhancing experience, followed by a culinary one! (lol). I don’t think one can top that very easily. Excellent job.
